In December of 2002, while I was in Havana recording the last Mamborama CD, I offered to record the Sunday rumba performance of my friends, Iroso Obbá. They enthusiastically agreed, and I dragged my recording equipment over there managed to get a pretty good recording of them. The group played extremely well that day, and it was a kick to record them, although a little hair raising. A rumba dancer came within an inch of kicking over one of the conga microphones, but I think he was just trying to freak me out.

Now the group sells the CD that we made that day at their gigs. It is the only place in the world where you can buy this particular recording, and all the proceeds go to the group. But you can listen to it here. Enjoy.
